An Unposted Letter

An unposted letter, so full of heart,
Lies untouched, waiting to depart.
It longs to travel across the miles,
to reach the one whom it was supposed to make smile.

With the receiver's name as "mine",
I don't know if today they can be found.
Those wholeheartedly inked words and loving lines,
I'm not sure how they are supposed to sound.

Inside a locker, it sits in repose.
Holding onto a secret that only it knows.
Wondering if it will ever be read,
or be forgotten with passing of time instead.
