Broken Mirror

When I was at my best,
I showed you your true self.
I brought out the best in you.
You looked at me every day,
and improved over time,
for I never lied until the day
when someone couldn't see both of us shine.
They broke me in such a way that you didn't like me anymore.
You missed our memories but left me alone,
for you knew my pieces would hurt,
and the deserted me kept cursing and promising myself
not to be just a mirror to anyone anymore.
