Solitude
I like solitude,
but not in its absolute form.
it feels good to be alone,
but only when I have people to hover upon.
it's like enjoying peace amidst the buzz of chimes,
or wanting notes but needing dimes.
because as the world withdraws,
a hunger takes its seat,
when you are driving alone,
with no one in the backseat.
the darkness wraps around,
like a silent shroud,
the soul wanders,
navigating wounds dimly endowed.
on its journey,
arise questions in the breeze,
gloomy answers,
unwise unease.
doubts whisper,
does solitude delight?
I ponder,
if the choices made were right!
I enjoy time alone,
but not when it's the only tone,
I too crave melody,
when it's too much monotone.
perhaps I'm a social bird,
craving both wings,
solitude's comfort,
with companionship's strings.
